Circle Media Group strengthens position in Central Europe with the acquisition of Kőrner Druck in Germany

3 December, 2018 – Amsterdam, the Netherlands / Sindelfingen/Stuttgart, Germany: Circle Media Group (CMG), a leading European printing and media group, announces today that it has acquired the operational activities of German printing company Kőrner Druck GmbH & Co.KG after reaching an agreement with the Heer Media Group. Kőrner Druck is the largest company of the Heer Media Group that started insolvency procedures in August of this year.

With this acquisition, Circle Media Group will further strengthen its Central European Magazines & Retail Printing business, with nearby activities in Germany (J. Fink Druck) as well as in Austria (Oberndorfer Druckerei) and Hungary (Antok). The Group also maintains its leading role in the necessary consolidation of the European printing and media industry. Kőrner Druck was founded in 1885 and is a leading web-offset printer in Southwest Germany (Sindelfingen near Stuttgart) with revenues of €70 million and more than 200 employees.

The company is active in retail printing and specializes in catalogues and advertisement supplements. The transaction is still subject to approvals by competition authorities in Austria and Germany and is expected to close end of December of 2018. After closing of the transaction Circle Media Group intends to integrate Kőrner Druck with its Central European operations. The company will retain its operational name and will continue to operate with about 80% of its workforce.

Tino Heer, founder of the Heer Media Group, will act as an advisor to Kőrner Druck.
